Under The Power [锦衣之下]

[UTP] Chapter 135 (End)

Since then, Jinxia, Cen Fu and the others have been trying their best to restore Lu Yi’s name.

The new Emperor cleared Lu Yi’s accusations three years later after Deputy Zhang Juzheng presented the report, and the fact that Lu Bing had once saved the Emperor from rebellions and dedicated his life to the palace also helped Lu Yi. As a result, the new Emperor has forgiven Lu Yi and will no longer investigate Lu Bing’s case. Also, Lu Yi’s position has been restored.

In December, snow started to appear.

Shangguan Xi was wearing a hooded robe, her hand was holding a stock list, at the dock, checking one by one the goods sent from the capital. A gust of wind blew, lowering her hood, she reached out to put it back on, accidentally letting go of the list which flew across the river.

Before she could chase after it, a shadow of a person had already jumped out, flew like a bird, the tips of his toes touched the tip of the boat, caught the flying list, turned his body around and landed in front of Shangguan Xi.

“Shangguan Bangzhu.”

Just like the old days, A’Rui called out to her, passing the list to her. Looking at him, the slash wound on his face had completely healed,

thrusting the stock sheet in his hand. The slash wound on his face had completely healed, but if you looked closely you could still see a faint scar.

Shangguan Xi looked at him, the corners of her lips lifted into a smile: “Wrong, you have to call me Shagguan Master.”

A’Rui was dumbfounded: “Then you and Young Master Bangzhu…I mean Young Master Xie…Congratulations—”

Shangguan Xi cut him off: “I’m not married yet, the two jars of wine are still at the bottom of the lake. Xie Xiao went to Xibei, there’s no one to take care of the gang. I’m replacing Big Master Xie.”

“……..” Upon hearing her explanation, A’Rui felt embarrassed, at the moment not knowing what to say.

Shangguan Xi continued to stare at him, then looked at the surface of the water again, and said in a soft voice: “Wait until the weather is warmer, maybe you can help me fetch the two jars of wine in the lake.”

A’Rui nodded.

In the capital, it was snowing heavily.

Chun Yumin was about to put on an apron but YangYue quickly stopped her.

“The weather is too cold, I just want to wrap some spring rolls, so you don’t need to help. Just go to your room and rest.”

Chun Yumin laughed: “I can help you start the fire. Today, my older Brother is coming home, I should at least prepare something. When are they coming home? Will we have enough time for spring rolls?”

“Yes, we will. I heard Jinxia said they may have to go pay their respects to the Emperor, visit his residence before coming here.”

When he stepped out of the prison, a cold snowflake landed on his face, a feeling he had not felt for a long time, reviving his heart and mind.

Not too far away, Jinxia arrived with her horse, her face was full of smiles. It seemed like she had been waiting for a long time, snow was starting to pile on her shoulder.

Lu Yi walked over to her, slowly brushing the snow off her shoulder. Their silence was enough for them, since they had waited so long for this moment.

Both of them turned around and got on the horse.

“The old residence has been sealed for so long, inside it must have been—” Jinxia didn’t want him to see the current condition of the residence and be reminded of the past, “Otherwise, wait a few more days, give them time to clean it?”

“I want to go see it.” Lu Yi said in a soft voice.

Jinxia didn’t bother persuading him anymore

Arriving in front of his residence, a very large copper lock was hanging on it, when Lu Yi came out of prison, a key was given to him. Lu Yi inserted the key to unlock it, pushed open the creaky door.

At first I thought that every corner of the house would look gloomy and shattered, but because of the heavy snow, it made all the old furniture invisible. As far as the eye could see, everything was clean and clear like ice.

Lu Yi stepped forward, continued walking all the way to the great hall, Jinxia pulled her horse aside and quickly followed him.

The great hall’s appearance had changed, the table chairs were broken, the paintings had flecks in them, and the satin on the railing was faded.

Jinxia suddenly pulled Lu Yi: “Wait, there seems to be someone behind.”

What she was pointing at was a fainted black shadow behind the railing.

Lu Yi did not hear anyone else breathing, but seeing the black shadow was suspicious, so he opened the barrier.

These two people confronted the shadow.

Behind the railing, there is a human-shaped coffin whose handwork is very detailed.

Its pale face was made with porcelain, its smile was stiff and strange, and the eyes were wide open with pitch black pupils.

It was staring at them.

That’s the final chapter of Under The Power, thank you everyone so much for sticking around from the beginning til’ the end. It was a pleasure being your translator for this. I’m happy but also sad that it ended, but luckily we still got some epilogues to enjoy, please stay tune!

  1. Just finished the book. What a wonderful story and journey of the protagonists.

Big Thank You to translator to provide us with such a compelling novel 😇😍🙏🏻

I started drama but didn’t finish it, didn’t like it but can’t remember why 😅

However, does someone understand why there is a coffin in the last paragraph? Or is it the “Ai Bieli”?

    1. It’s supposed to be a mysterious ending, initially the author was supposed to add more to it as she said she will, but later she changed her mind and said she was satisfied with the ending.

Thank you so much for reading, I feel like the drama could throw a lot of people off with the low budget, and less main lead scenes, but the chemistry really pulled me in. The novel also pulled me out of the hole, cause i felt like the drama ending wasn’t as satisfied, so I’m glad there were extra stories to satisfied me. 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for the early “Christmas present”! I’ve been waiting patiently (ha…more like impatiently) for the ending. I love reading the translated novel as this is one of my favorite dramas. Both versions are good but I may like the book better as there are a lot less unnecessary parts. But without the movie I would not have known about the book.

Thank you for all your hard work to share this book with people like me who can’t read the original language.

Now I can read all the chapters again from beginning to end as this book is that good.
